A rebrand for Jonathan Sabine — a multi-talented designer working primarily in furniture, lighting and product design — who approached me to rethink his brand and overall look & feel. A custom typeface was developed to reinforce his unique approach to design which pairs a modern sensibility with subtle organic interventions. Icons were designed for each product using as minimal an approach as possible to convey the most important elements in each form.
The identity for Bolt Fresh Bar was developed to help communicate the founders' mindset that good food should be accessible, quick and full of sustainable energy. The bold, fun wordmark is combined with a growing system of fruit & vegetable icons which adorn cups, boxes, soup & stew containers, the resulting negative space (and your stomach) is filled with the good stuff inside them.
Identity, brand collateral, website and interior graphics for Toronto's 2fl Events, a full-service rental space in the heart of the fashion district. We took an unconventional approach to a fairly staid industry. Pulling it's main references from traditional outdoor markets and signage, the identity and space remain adaptable to any type of event.
Later Magazine is a semi-annual surf & travel magazine published by the King Publishing Project. I lead the initial branding, art direction and design for the magazine's first year in production. The magazine also made use of Mowat, a custom typeface designed in studio at Breadwinner for headlines throughout.
In 2010 I lead the rebrand for Moog Music - A brand with a rich heritage in innovation and product development, they're responsible for many of the electronic sounds which are a part of our everyday lives whether through music, in movies or as sound effects in video games, the Moog synthesizer family is the benchmark by which all others are measured.
As Creative Director, I managed the evolution of the Moog Brand along with their Marketing Director through the design and build of their new website, packaging, manual design, iOS/Android apps, collateral and marketing assets. Virtually no part of the company was left untouched.
Creative Direction and Design for Nike Sportswear's "Shinny: Always On" mobile campaign. We created an identity system which linked together the distinct neighbourhoods in Toronto in a call to come play Canada's favourite sport at local rinks. The S.W.A.T. inspired truck featured a retail environment, free playing cards, laces, skate sharpening and hot chocolate. To top it all off, players like Luke Schenn & P.K. Subban made appearances to play with the local kids.
Identity, and graphic design for The OCECCA Project - The project included all stationery, booklets and digital materials to help promote the project to Provincial and National stakeholders.
Creative direction and design of Moog Music's "40 Years of Minimoog" capsule package. A broadsheet history of the world's most well-known analog synthesizer was created for the introduction of the Minimoog Voyager XL. The logomark was designed for use on various assets and merchandise across Moog's lineup in 2010.
adidas Originals was opening their first flagship stores in Canada in Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal - I was lead creative on several projects through this time, including a pre-launch installation piece that covered the facade of the in-progress storefront. Based on two Adidas shoe boxes stacked on top of another, the installation covered the sidewalk and became a temporary gallery showcasing the artwork of Niall McClelland, Lukas Geronimas and Robin Nishio. Elements and panels still hang inside the store's upstairs lounge. A commemorative poster was also produced for the opening event.
A welcome kit to Nike Canada's incumbent general manager, using a map to detail areas of interest across the GTA. The package included tokens and fact cards to help introduce him to the diverse neighbourhoods and the hidden gems they have to offer. Delivered in a custom laser-etched leather pouch that doubled as an iphone case for later use.
Poster work for the annual Creative Type show at Cooper Cole Gallery in Toronto. Geometric custom type, constructed out of facets of photo grain. Rogue Science was a little shout out to the folks experimenting for the sake of it.
Branding and website for Ryan Allan, a photographer based out of Los Angeles who specializes in skateboarding and lifestyle photography.
To help commemorate the opening of adidas Originals' Montreal flagship store I designed the graphic treatment for this customized Marinoni Pista Crono. The bike was eventually auctioned off for charity benefiting the MS Society of Canada and was featured on websites around the world.
